Russian Sees 36 Percent Surge in Oil Exports
"Facts matter — Russian oil product exports have significantly increased. Fake warmonger narratives are bad for decision-making," Kirill Dmitriev stated on US social media platform X, referencing data from a recent media report.
The cited figures reveal Russia shipped approximately 2.15 million barrels daily of oil products throughout December, marking an 11% jump from November and reaching the peak level recorded since August.
The statistics further demonstrate a 36% increase when measured against earlier timeframes.
Dmitriev's remarks emerged as media documented that Russian refined fuel shipments climbed to a four-month pinnacle, propelled primarily by expanded diesel deliveries, notwithstanding continuing Western sanctions and constraints targeting the nation's energy infrastructure.
Western powers have enacted multiple sanctions and price ceiling mechanisms on Russian energy shipments since 2022 aimed at curtailing Moscow's revenue streams, though the Kremlin has systematically rerouted supplies toward alternative buyers in Asia and other regions.
