Russia Says No Initiatives to Change OPEC+ Production

(MENAFN) No proposals to modify oil output levels within the OPEC+ alliance are under consideration, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced Thursday.

Responding to reporters' questions at a Moscow press briefing regarding potential production adjustments amid Middle East turbulence, Peskov highlighted rising global oil demand trends.

"As you know, we are currently making our contribution to stabilizing prices and minimizing the consequences of the crisis for the global energy sector. Russia continues to supply oil. Demand is growing, while the volume of oil offered on the market is not increasing -- on the contrary, it is shrinking," he stated.

When pressed specifically about the OPEC+ coalition's stance, Peskov responded: "No other initiatives are on the agenda right now."

The Kremlin representative refused to address questions concerning severe flooding impacting Russia's Dagestan region, noting only that President Vladimir Putin has directed government agencies to assist affected residents with housing reconstruction efforts.

Regarding recent detentions at Eksmo, one of Russia's largest publishing corporations, Peskov deflected inquiries by suggesting journalists contact law enforcement authorities directly.

Concerning Russia's representation at the upcoming G20 summit in the United States, Peskov indicated officials have not finalized participation details.

"Work on the G20 track continues. Closer to the summit, a decision will be made on the format of our participation," Peskov confirmed.
